This morning we welcome the infectious enthusiasm and unbridled energy of London-based multi-reed player, Julie Kjær.

She has toured internationally and recorded with Django Bates and StoRMChaser. She also plays with [London Improvisers Orchestra](http://www.londonimprovisersorchestra.co.uk/) and is a leader and side-woman of several other ensembles – including her latest trio, Julie Kjær 3, with bass player John Edwards and drummer Steve Noble. Their debut album ‘[Dobbeltgænger](https://cleanfeed-records.com/product/dobbeltgaeenger/)’ was released in March last year on Lisbon's Clean Feed Records.

Goat - New Games

Julie Kjær: ” I’m staying for a bit in the same minimalist atmosphere with the Japanese band Goat from Osaka. Again it’s the defined sections with repetitive patterns and the fact it’s all played on real musical instruments that I really like. Although it’s repetitive the music evolves. I was lucky recently to hear the band live and it was a big experience seeing how they interacted on stage - deeply concentrated and focussed in the music in a very Japanese strict way. “

Trio Brasileiro & Anat Cohen - Anat’s Lament

Julie Kjær: ” And then for something completely different to soothe the melancholy part of me. My love for Brazilian music, including the Choro music, is big. The harmonies, melodies and rhythms and the whole energy of the music touches me deeply. Here a beautiful lament played by clarinettist Anat Cohen in a duo with guitar player Douglas Lora from the Trio Brasileiro & Anat Cohen album “Alegria Da Casa”. “
