I ❤️ MailTape

This morning, we have the immense pleasure to invite Flavien Berger. Following his work since a while, at the occasion of his new album he takes the time to share with us a somewhat of a nostalgic morning trip.

From past to present, change appears to be the main theme here. Maybe because of the context of this episode. It’s not a mystery anymore, earth is on the verge of a collapse. There’s a urgent need to change our way of life. Here are some vibes to help you find the energy to fight with love.

Change, fear and love.

Change demands to jump in the unknown. There’s no way we can imagine what tomorrow will be made of and this brings a lot of anxiety to many nations. Let’s not sink in the darkness, let’s not be torn appart by apathy.

Let’s believe in ourselves, we have everything to change radically. Love is the key and music is one of its best way to communicate it. MailTape is here to fuel your inspiration to create and to share the love, we won’t let you down. Breath in the music, dance with each part of your body, pump all your adrenalin and push towards what you strongly believe in. Let’s write together tomorrow’s history.

Flavien Berger’s selection

Catherine Deneuve - Digital Delay

Larraji - All of a Sudden

MailTape’s selection

Flavien Berger - 999999999

ImaCrea: Cartoonesque chaotic introduction and then a rich and oneiric trip begins. Flavien makes me think of a shaman here who comes and opens a new door of perception with his music. Dramaturgy is essential in Flavien’s music and with this new track, he proves once again that music has the ability to embark us on epic stories. The beauty with such cinematic track is how it triggers our visual perception and imagination to make up our own movie behind closed eyelids.

Bégayer - Le premier jour de l’année

ImaCrea: Now we’re set in space thanks to Flavien, let’s keep surfing the vibe with this improvised piece. Fragile, full of textures and dissonent sounds, we hear suddenly a preacher appearing far in the mist. He seems to be flying, who said humans can’t levitate? Now is your chance with this track.

Arutani - The Mermaid Girl ft. ĂVEM

ImaCrea: Slowly back to earth, the drum acts as gravity and pulls me to the surface of nature. Roots drawing cities through the soil, pulsating with minerals as a network linking plants together. Nature is our home and only one, the rich bass and distorted voice comes from the ocean with a message : “Get back to reality, don’t you see what you are destroying dear human? How long will it takes for you to understand and change? There’s no more time.”.

Tessela - Glisten

ImaCrea: Bipp, bipp. Inside a submarine, a crew ear the radar echoing the call of the mermaid. The energy in this track pumps positivity into my veins. It’s no time for letting us sinking, let’s come back to the surface, open your body to life, use all your power now. Change! Create something beautiful with all your love.

That’s it for this morning, hope you find in this episode the energy to overcome your fears and keep sharing your love. As always, thanks for listening and much love and respect to Flavien Berger who just released a new album in the galaxy, and to Pierre-Julien Fieux for this beautiful illustration!
