This morning, we’re starting the longest day of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere. For our neighbors on the other side of the planet, it will be the shortest. They say that finding balance comes from going to the extremes—moving from one direction to another. And this episode plays with that idea: taking you from one side to the other, as summer arrives. This selection acts as a portal to warmer days shared with your surroundings—filled with creativity, dance, and music. And who better to invite us on that journey than Gildaa, our dear guest of the day?
Gildaa’s selection
Jeff Parker & ETA Inter - Freakadelic (feat Anna Butterss, Jay Bellerose & Josh Johnson)
Terrace Martin & Ogi - Not Sharing
ImaCrea’s selection
Gildaa - L’Équilibre
ImaCrea: ” I love her debut album Gildaa so it wasn’t an easy task to choose only one! In a previous episode with Sessa as our guest, I selected “Tout pour plaire” for its playful kind of wildness. “L’Équilibre” is a very poetic and moving track, which invites us to oscillate between different states of mind. I love how it reminds me that finding balance is a question of movement, keeping balance is actually the opposite of being static. It’s an invitation to live fully, to accept oneself with one’s own contradictions, and to navigate with care while enjoying the lightness of being in balance. I guess Gildaa knows that from her vast experience as an artist, playing not only music but many other forms. I highly suggest you go and see her live if you can, one of the best concerts I’ve had the chance to see lately. A unique, mesmerizing energy… so needed in these troubled times. “
Bruno Berle - Manhã
ImaCrea: ” It’s been a while since I’ve been listening to Bruno Berle’s work, since his debut album “No Reino Dos Afetos” actually. This is a new track just released a month ago, announcing a new album to come soon. I like how he explores different vibes—this one is so vulnerable and warm. It feels like a simple moment spent with a great friend, walking with a light heart. Sun rays are caressing our skin; everything is alive around us, we’re one. “
Maara - Come Home
ImaCrea: ” Today is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, and summer is entering. This hypnotizing track by Maara feels perfect for that moment, acting as a portal into the very particular energy of the days to come. As spring metamorphosis is ending, it’s time to spread your wings and dive into the beauty around you. “
Saul Williams - Conspiracy (feat. Moor Mother & Gonjasufi)
ImaCrea: ” Saul Williams, Moor Mother, and Gonjasufi, produced by Carlos Nino. What can I say with so many talents gathered… I love how amapiano enters another dimension, where deep spirituality joins forces with the combative nature of politics. I’m really eagerly waiting to discover this new album as it comes—one that’s sure to push music boundaries even further. The horizon is full of surprises. Keep the light on! ”
That’s all for today, dear friends. A warm and joyful thank to Gildaa and thank you to Julie for your superb illustration, based on a great picture by Pierre Nativel, which perfectly matches the episode! See you for the next ride!
